Jeev warms up for the Senior Open with 3rd place in Germany
India’s Jeev Milkha Singh, playing his first year on the Legends Tour (over 50), earned his first top 3 result at the Winstongolf Senior Open here.
Jeev, who will attend his first Senior Open next week at Gleneagles, finished the last round with a stunning 5 under 67 with a total score of 6 under 210. His first two rounds were 70. -73 at the 54-hole tournament.
Jeev, who started the week with a terrible run with a trick and a brace in his first nine, improved then with five birdies in his second nine, that’s the front. of the Winstongolf Championship course.
He draws 70 cards on the first day and then another 73 on the second day, when his card has a double bogey.
On the last day, he played seven starters and then played eighth and ninth. Back at 9th, he played in 14th and 15th but missed a shot on the 16th and closed the birdie-birdie at 67th.
“I played well. Last week, I was a bit exhausted finishing the T-56 (in Switzerland) but my game started to change direction after the first two innings. I shot 69 in the final round,” Jeev said.
“Today, I got pretty close to the playoffs where Richard Green beat Philip Archer.
“This is my best result and best performance since becoming a senior rookie golfer after turning 50 late last year. I am very proud of my performance this week.” Jeev said he did well and recently received a piece of advice from an old friend, Michael Campbell from New Zealand.
“He told me a few things and it helped. He is a former US Open champion.” This week’s third-place finish earned Jeev €21,000 and put him in 35th place in the 2022 Legendary Tour’s Awards. He’s 84th at the start of the week, so it’s up. 49 steps.

Vani Kapoor ends his career with the best 3rd place in the Netherlands
Indian golfer Vani Kapoor recorded a career best result on the Ladies European Tour, finishing third at the Big Green Egg Open 2022 here.
Kapoor, whose only Top 10 finish was a tied sixth at the Hero Women’s Indian Open in 2017, lost his form and standing on the LET, but worked hard to get back into the tournament.
Kapoor, who shot 69-70-71 in the first three innings, added 73 in the final for a total of under five, trailing only Anna Nordqvist, the three-time Major champion two-shot.
Diksha Dagar, who was also running after the first two laps, dropped to T-17 with a final record of 77, including four bogeys from sixth to 12th and then a double at Par-5 on day 17.
Amandeep Drall (76) completed the T-48 while Ridhima Dilawari (74) was the T-57.
Kapoor had a trick in the second season, before she earned a return shot with a birdie in the eighth. Another drop on the 14th saw her once again fall behind the lead pair.
She ended up scoring the best finish of her career, like it did for Witt, who shot five under the week.

Dhinidhi adds to Karnataka’s gold rush
Karnataka’s Dhinidhi Desinghu hit 1:04.01 seconds to set a new national record in the girls’ 100m butterfly event at the 48th National Aquatic Championships on Monday.
It was a tough race as the youngster from Bengaluru narrowly beat teammate Hashika Ramachandra of the state, who happened to hold the previous national record set last year.
Hashika also swam in the previous record time of 1:05.51 seconds with a speed of 1:04.10 seconds. Assam’s Subhranshini Priyadarshini took home the bronze medal with a time of 1:07.02 at the Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool inside Kalinga Stadium.
Haryana’s Krish Jain sprinted in the men’s 50 m backstroke to sink his own national record of 28.31 seconds set in the hot ring. He scored 28.06 to win gold and beat Telangana’s Suhas Preetham M (28.51) and Karnataka’s Ishaan Mehra (28.90).
On the other hand, Maharashtra’s Apeksha Fernandes continued to have an impressive opening match in the prestigious event as she set another national record on her way to winning the gold medal in the women’s 100m butterfly event of group I.
She hit a speed of 1:01.94 seconds to better than the previous record of 1:02.71 held by Astha Choudhary. Second place in this race was Nilabjaa Gosh of Bengal with a time of 1:03.68 seconds and third place went to Nina Venkatesh of Karnataka with a time of 1:03.93.
Adding to Maharashtra’s medal list is Vedaant Madhavan, who won his second gold medal at the Championship. He won the men’s 100m freestyle group I with a time of 52.12 seconds, beating Karnataka’s Karthikeyan Nair (53.39) and Tamil Nadu’s Jashua Thomas (53.58).
As for Karnataka, Ridhima Veerendra Kumar got another gold in the women’s 50m backstroke group I. She reached 30.25 seconds while her teammate R Navaneeth Gowda took the gold in the men’s 400m group II event. .

Gold Medal for Akanksha, Harshada
World youth champions Harshada Garud and Akanksha Vyavhare won gold medals in the Asian youth and youth weightlifting championships in Tashkent on Monday.
Harshada achieved 69kg in the recoil and 88kg in the jerk, totaling 157kg and won the women’s 45kg lightweight title. She has gained 4 kg from her World participation.
Akanksha, the world youth silver medalist, lifted 55kg and 70kg to a total of 125kg and won gold in the women’s 40kg weight class. She overtook her own National and clean jump by one kilogram even though her total was two kilograms less than her Worlds.
Soumya Dalvi (63kg, 82kg, 145kg), World Junior bronze medalist, won bronze in the women’s 45kg category. She lifted 148kg at the World Youth Championships.
S. Gurunaidu, the 55kg world junior champion, had a record below his best (104kg, 123kg, 227kg) to finish fourth in the junior men’s event and seventh in the junior men’s event. . He achieved a total weight of 230kg in the world youth event.

Zouhaier Sghaier Ranking Series: Sujeet wins India’s only men’s freestyle gold on final day of competition
Sujeet won India’s only men’s freestyle gold medal on the final day of the Zouhaier Sghaier Ranking Series wrestling tournament in Tunis, Tunisia on Sunday.
Sujeet, who won gold at the Asian Under-23 and Under-20 Asian Championships, won a third consecutive title beating the 2021 Asian silver medalist and campaigning Gold medalist Matteo Pellicone of Kazakhstan 14-4, Polish Open Champion 2021 of the US John Diakomihalis of the US 8-2 and Olympic Argentina Agustin Destribats 15-4 in the 65kg category.
Udit (57kg) lost to world champion and Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Thomas Gilman of the US 9-8 in the final to take silver.
Aman Sehrawat (61kg), Sagar Jaglan (74kg) and Viky Chahar (92kg) also have a good record to pocket the silver HC. Karan Mor (70kg) and Gourav Baliyan (79kg) won bronze medals.
