Earlier, there were violent confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli police at a holy site in the Old City. Soon after, hundreds of Jewish tourists, including a far-right congressman, reached the top of the hill, where some danced, waved Israeli flags and bowed in prayer, before being stopped by police. Palestinians see such actions as rioting groups and militants have warned they will not be tolerated.
