On Sunday, the annual MTV Movie & TV Awards took place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA, and the stars showed up and went to see which of their favorite movies and shows won the awards. One person who received the honor in the evening was none other than Jennifer Lopez. With an acting background of more than 20 years, she was honored with this year’s Generation Award.
In his acceptance speech, J.Lo said, “As an actress, I’m not any of the women I’ve played, but there’s a part of what’s deeply real to me in every single one of them. that character. Since you can’t create truth unless you’ve lived it, I have another thank you list tonight. “
She continued,
“I want to thank everyone who gave me this life. I want to thank the people who gave me joy, and those who broke my heart. Those who were true, and those who lied to me. I want to thank true love, and I want to thank the way I lied to myself, because that’s how I knew I had to grow. I want to thank disappointments and failures for teaching me to be strong, and my children for teaching me to love.”
As Jennifer thanked those who doubted her, as well as her fans, she also gave special thanks to her longtime manager, Benny Medina, who was in the audience. She said, “If there was one person who believed in me from the beginning. From the first time I played him a ragged demo of a song I wrote that day, and he never let me stop believing in myself, who he is. ”

Earlier on the show, J. Lo’s recording of “On My Way (Marry Me)” won Best Song, which was featured in the movie “Marry Me,” which she co-starred with Owen Wilson.
