The weight division currently houses some of the top boxers in the world. However, when it comes to the best of the best, two names in particular often stick out at the absolute top. That would be unification champion Errol Spence Jr. and WBO boxer, Terence Crawford.

With both stars doing their best to obliterate opponents while summing up world titles along the way, a major showdown between them has been imagined for the better part of the best five years. .

In the end, if the final pairing is tango, the winner of their competition will be considered by many to be the best fighter of the welterweight division. That said, whether fans believe Spence Jr is the world’s best 147-pound athlete or Crawford, Jaron Ennis believes both answers will be wrong.

“I feel like the best weightlifter in the world,” Ennis said in an interview with FightHype.com. “I just have to prove it to these people and prove it to the world, I will and I will continue to make these claims. We’re starting May 14 with a big announcement. ”

As Ennis alluded to, the 24-year-old welterweight star will return to the ring on May 14, when he takes on undefeated opponent, Custio Clayton. If the heavily favored Ennis gets the win, the Philadelphian will be in prime position to challenge for his first world title, something he’s been craving for quite some time.

After previous appearances in the ring, Ennis regularly called on the biggest and best fighters the division had to offer. But while he continues to target those considered higher up in the heavyweight food chain, both Crawford and Spence Jr are currently busy with other matters.

In the case of Spence Jr., he is currently completing an arduous training session as he prepares to take on WBA belt holder Yordenis Ugas. Crawford, meanwhile, will be keeping a close eye on their confrontation in hopes of getting an undisputed matchup against the winner.

Regardless of the logjam near the top of the area, Ennis will patiently stay in the dark. As for who he might end up facing for his first-ever world championship title, that question remains an irrelevant one. No matter who was placed before him, Ennis believed that his moment in the sun would not be wasted.

“I really don’t care who it is. It could be Terence Crawford, Errol Spence, anyone, Keith Thurman. I really don’t care, I just want my chance. Once I had the chance, I knew I would shine. Once I have a chance, it will be over. ”
