Jaguar F-Pace recalled due to fire risk


Jaguar remembering a few F-Pace cross because an oil leak could lead to a vehicle fire.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the oil filter housing may not meet specifications and may crack over time,” the company said in the recall notice.

“If this happens, oil can leak into the engine compartment and accumulate in the presence of an ignition source, leading to a vehicle fire.

“A vehicle fire can increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or property damage.”

Other JLR vehicles – defender, Discover, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport And Range Rover Velar – also used to be recalled for the same problem.

If you own an affected vehicle, you will need to make an appointment with a JLR dealer for a free replacement of the oil filter housing, strainer and associated o-rings.
