It took a lot of small talk to get to this point. Or maybe it didn’t. Either way, the social media star isn’t bad at all and up-and-coming boxer Jake Paul will officially fight Tommy Fury (Tyson’s brother) at Madison Square Garden in a pay per event. views on August 6 presented by Showtime. “Okay, people,” Paul posted on social media Thursday, “he grew up overnight. It’s official, I’m going to take off this little Fury’s head. Amanda Serrano and I double at the Mecca of boxing. Sure, instead of immediately rematching Katie Taylor, whom she fought last spring in a fight, Amanda Serrano will be in the main doubles event on August 6 when she faces off against Brenda Carbajal to compete for the featherweight title.

Paul 5-0 was supposed to fight Fury last winter, but Fury pushed it aside. Though Paul went on to face Tryon Woodley for a second time (in a bout where he brutally knocked out the former UFC star), he showed little patience with cruiserweight teammate Fury this time around. . “Tommy Fury and fighters like him are the reason the sport is starting to die,” Paul posted on Wednesday. “Tommy, you have 24 hours to fix this.” Needless to say, Fury appeared eager to take Paul down, as the fight was now set.
Fury 8-0 will at least get name recognition beyond his last name, which he shares with his brother Tyson, the retired WBC heavyweight champion (?). He will also be the first boxer that Paul goes up to professionally, who has yet to have a professional boxing match with him. It could be said that Paul might be challenging himself this time. He has real strength and very high discipline. Now he will be able to prove that he is ready to compete with the true professionals.
As for Serrano, the multi-talented boxer will give up the weight division to face a competitor for the mandatory featherweight title in Carbajal. 42-2-1 The New Yorker’s Serrano will once again fight in the Garden, where she joined the fight with Taylor last April. Carbajal 18-5-1 certainly isn’t a top name, but she took first place on Serrano’s WBO title-fighting roster. With both of Serrano’s belts in action (she’s also a WBC featherweight champion), this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Argentina’s Carbajal. One only has to look back at Andy Ruiz’s stunning win over Anthony Joshua in 2019 to see what surprising things can happen in a fight at the Garden.
