Is this a 2026 Porsche 911 GT2 RS in stealth disguise?

Porsche has been spotted testing a 911 GT3 RS at the Nurburgring, but the prototype is definitely not what we expected.

The XeSpyMedia YouTube channel shared this video of a car with GT3 RS decals.

However, if you’re familiar with these cars, you’ll notice that the distinctive whine of the GT3 RS’s 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six is gone. Instead, it’s much closer to the last-gen GT2 RS.

Although unconfirmed, it’s possible that the test mule was powered by the 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine that we’ll eventually see in the 2026 911 GT2 RS.

Where the previous generation was a 520kW monster capable of setting the Nurburgring lap record, this new model uses the 992 platform with upgraded suspension and aerodynamics that could be even faster than the previous version.

The previous generation 911 GT2 RS set the record for fastest rear-wheel drive production car at the Nurburgring in 2017, and also set the overall record in 2021 with the addition of the upgrade package.

It was beaten by the Mercedes-AMG One last year, although the F1-powered supercar was faster than the modified GT2 RS by less than 10 seconds, suggesting the new model could be very close to reclaiming the crown. .
