Into Mischief Well-Represented in B.C. Pre-Entries
Reigning four-time leading sire Into Mischief , again on top of the general sires list this year, will be well represented at this year’s Breeders’ Cup.
Into Mischief leads all sires with seven horses pre-entered in this year’s World Championships Nov. 3-4 at Santa Anita Park. Into Mischief will stand the 2024 season for $250,000 at Spendthrift Farm, which leads all stallion farms with 22 runners pre-entered representing 10 stallions on its roster.
The seven horses pre-entered in the Breeders’ Cup for Into Mischief are Champagne Stakes (G1) winner Timberlake in the Juvenile (G1), First Lady Stakes (G1T) winner Gina Romantica in the Mile (G1T), grade 2 winner Hoosier Philly in the Distaff, grade 3-winner Three Witches and grade 1-placed Clearly Unhinged in the Filly & Mare Sprint (G1), multiple grade 1 winner Pretty Mischievous in the Distaff (G1), and grade 2 winner Lane Way in the Turf Sprint (G1T).
As second preference, Gina Romantica also is entered in the Filly & Mare Turf (G1T) and Hoosier Philly is also entered in the Filly & Mare Sprint (G1).
Of Note
- While he only has three crops, record-breaking young sire Gun Runner has six horses pre-entered. Those half-dozen runners are grade 2 winner Chatalas , grade 1-placed Life Talk , grade 1 winner Locked , grade 1-placed Dreamlike , grade 1 winner Society , and two-time grade 1 winner Gunite .
- No Nay Never , who stands at Coolmore in Ireland, has five 2-year-olds pre-entered in this year’s Breeders’ Cup and six horses pre-entered overall.
- The third sire with six horses pre-entered in this year’s Breeders’ Cup is Frankel , who stands at Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket, England.
