A “senior royal source” said Sun that “there’s a really warm connection between Sophie and her granddaughter, which is very touching.”

The source noted that the trio spent time together browsing the shelves at Peter Jones in London. The department store has a special connection to the royal family, having won two royal warrants in its long history: one from then-Prince Charles and one from Prince Phillip. Royal warrants are given to manufacturers and stores that supply goods to the royal family and can be awarded by the monarch, their spouses, and future heirs.

“Louise also loved Charlotte very much, but didn’t see much of her as she was often away from home in Scotland,” they added.
