Indian RAS system SSi Mantra is coming soon to Indonesia

SS Innovations, a development company based in Indiaper among surgical robotic technologies, recently received regulatory approval from the Indonesian Ministry of Health for its leading robot-assisted surgical system.

It was also announced that the SSi Mantra was recently installed at the private Baidya and Banskota Hospital in Nepal, possibly marking the installation of the country’s first surgical robotic system.

Developed to be an affordable solution, the SSi Mantra features a modular robotic arm, a vision vehicle that provides 3D 4K vision, and a command center with an open-face control panel design. With applications in a variety of specialties, such as general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and urological surgery, this RAS system has been clinically validated in more than 70 types of surgical procedures.

BIGGER TREND

As the SS innovations aAwaiting regulatory clearance for its RAS system in the US and Europe next year, the company is aggressively pursuing expansion across Asia. Demand for robotic surgery is said to be growing in the region as alternatives to costly market-leading solutions finally appear on the market. For example, in India, robotic surgery is becoming an option in public hospitals. Hospitals outside major cities are also looking to offer robotic surgeries.

Some medical institutions have begun testing the feasibility of robotic remote surgery, an approach procedure that combines telemedicine and RAS. The National University Hospital in Singapore and Fujita Medical University in Japan collaborated to perform remote gastric bypass surgery on a simulated stomach at a distance of more than 5,000 km last October.

In Indonesia, local govt cooperated with Iran to pilot the Robotic Remote Surgery Center project in Bandung and Yogyakarta last May. After successful operations, they expanded their coverage to the country’s western and eastern islands earlier this year.

Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovation, said: “With the entry of SSi Mantra into the Indonesian market, we believe we can contribute to increasing access and reducing Cost of Robotic Surgical Options”. market.

According to ResearchAndMarkets, the global surgical robotics market, worth $79 billion by 2022, is predicted to grow to nearly $190 billion by 2032, growing at a 9.1% CAGR.

Additionally, SS Innovations recently unveiled the latest version of the SSi Mantra. The SSi Mantra 3 now has five slimmer robotic arms and a 3D HD headset. This launch comes alongside the announcement of the first human trial of remote surgery using the SSi Mantra. A cholecystectomy was performed in Gurugram between World Endoscopy Hospital and SS Innovations Headquarters over a distance of 5 km, served by Airtel’s fiber optic network.
