MATCH PREFERENCE
India’s senior men’s soccer team will be looking to complete a record consecutive appearance in the final match of the continental tournament, AFC Asian Cup, as it plays host to the deciding match of the qualifying round (Group D) at Salt Lake Stadium.
The first round of group tournament action starting on Wednesday will see India Kick off a favorite match against neighboring Southeast Asia’s Cambodia while the rest of the day will be the two remaining teams in the group – Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
India’s aspirations depend on confidence that they will be the top-ranked team (currently 106) out of the four contenders in the group. This will be supported by massive support from home as organizers have indicated that a crowd has sold out over 50,000 for the first wave of action.

“We are expecting fans to come in large numbers, to support the national team in the best way possible. We plan to press the pitch from the start, and play with high intensity.
