India launches incentive scheme to boost digital health record adoption



India’s National Health Authority is encouraging healthcare providers and other stakeholders in the nation’s digital health ecosystem who are driving record creation digital health.

Up to Rs 40 million (nearly $500,000) will be made available to medical facilities, diagnostic centers and digital solution providers with 10 or more beds, such as HMIS and LMIS. It will be made available based on the number of digital health records created and linked to the Ayushman Bharat Medical Account.

The Indian government has set aside Rs 500 million ($6 million) to implement the scheme over the next six months.

According to the press release, the Digital Health Incentive Program will accelerate digital health transactions in India under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

“We believe this program will encourage more and more healthcare facilities and digital software companies to come forward and join ABDM to deliver patient-centered healthcare. Through this financial incentive program, we encourage the adoption of digital health,” explains NHA CEO Dr Ram Sewak Sharma.

The incentives come as similar incentive programs have driven the adoption of other public health-related systems, such as Unified Payments Interfaces, TB case notifications and Janani Suraksha Yojana, a secure system. motherhood intervention program.
