Imperial Hint Wins First at Louisiana Downs

Clear Creek Stud’s multiple Grade 1 winner and first year sire Royal Suggestion scored his first goal on 22 July when his son Tdz Power Hints won his first race at Louisiana Downs 4 3/4 length.

Tdz Hint of Power is a Louisiana stallion bred by Tony Doughtie and trained by Kent Knudsen. The colt won by gate-to-wire in :57.50, less than a second slower than the course record of :56.90 set in 2002.

Imperial Hint is a 9 year old son of Imperialism who won back-to-back Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) and Vosburgh Stakes (G1) in 2018-19. He also won two Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) and finished third in the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) on his way to earning more than $2.2 million while racing from 3rd to 7th.

This year, the Imperial Hint costs $3,000.

Doughtie also sired the dam of his first winner, Tdz Mandycorrienda, an unraced daughter of El Corredor. Tdz Mandycorrienda did not make an impact at the racetrack, but she did produce the award-winning Tdzshiningstar (Star Guitar ) and another winner next to Tdz Hint of Power.
