‘Immortal dog’ was rescued by a man with an ax from a stuffy car

Sometimes, as time goes by, you have to act fast if it’s a matter of life and death. When Bill Morris saw Yorkie ‘lifeless’ in a hot car, he knew he couldn’t wait for the police to arrive. If more time had passed, the little dog might not have survived.

A loyal dog father himself, Morris knows that no dog should be abandoned in such dire conditions. So he took an ax and used it to break the window in a quick rescue. It was a risky mission, but Yorkie’s life came first in this situation.

Quick thinking rescue

Morris was on his way to buy a new vacuum cleaner when he came across the dog in danger. Samantha Harvey and her husband Eddie showed Yorkie to Morris. When he took a closer look in the car, he saw that the dog looked like him minutes away from death. Many people stood nearby, but no one was hurt.

Yorkie was clearly heartbroken. He lay on his side, gasping for breath, and closed his eyes. Morris first called the police, but he kept the phone on hold for a long time. He knew when someone answered it was too late.

“The dog was just minutes away from dying and I just thought, ‘I need to do something here,'” Morris said.

So Morris took an ax from his car while another stayed behind to fight the police. Samantha videotaped the entire situation as a witness.

Morris hit the car window eight times before it shattered. He made sure to hit the front window while the dog was in the back so the glass wouldn’t hit the dog. He then grabbed the dog by the leash to help pull it to safety. Thanks to Morris’ quick thinking, little Yorkie was free.

Is the dog okay?

There were two officers nearby, so Morris warned them of what he had done. Their concern is focused only on the dog, not on the broken window, which is a relief. Fortunately, the dog was still alive, so the staff rushed him to the vet for further evaluation of his health. The dog has been in the car for at least 45 minutes. He also desperately needs a haircut, which probably only makes him hotter.

“The police took all of my details but at no time did they charge me or warn me of a criminal offense or even say what I did was wrong,” Morris said. “If I were in the same situation tomorrow, I would do the same thing. I do not regret “.

Soon, the owner of the car returned with his young daughter. Morris said she appeared shocked, but not at all moved by the dog. Morris questioned whether she would leave her child alone in the car for an hour and she said no. She then went on to say she was sorry and that she didn’t know what she was thinking. However, this apology should not excuse her cruel actions.

Unfortunately, the owner of the car doesn’t seem to have received any fees. She was only given advice. As for Morris, he was given a lot of praise, many people offered to buy him a thank you gift. However, Morris says he wants people to use their money to donate to animal welfare organizations instead of gifts. That will help make the world a better place for more dogs.
