Hyundai remembering over 2000 examples of its new generation Santa Fe due to a defect that may cause some airbags to not deploy properly.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, the airbag wiring harness under the rear passenger seat may not be securely attached,” the company said in the recall notice.
“As a result, the seat may become damaged over time due to seat adjustments that result in the rear seat side airbag deploying outward or failing to deploy.
“In the event of an accident, an airbag that does not deploy as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you will need to schedule an appointment with a Hyundai dealer to have the airbag wiring system inspected and repaired free of charge.
