Hyundai Australia remembering 7554 example of it Santa Claus SUVs due to manufacturing issues can cause the seat belt pre-tensioner cover to break in a crash.
This recall affects the current generation of TMs Santa Claus models produced between 2020 and 2022.
“Due to manufacturing issues, the seat belt pre-tensioner inflator cap may break during deployment in the event of an accident,” the company said in the recall notice.
“If the seat belt front inflator cap is broken, metal shards can be ejected at high speed towards the occupants and could cause serious injury.”
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your preferred Hyundai dealer to schedule an appointment for a free part inspection and repair.
