The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been on sale in Europe for a year, hitting that market with 58 kWh the battery or units of 72.6 kWh. By the time Hyundai delivered the first Ioniq in the US in December 2021, the automaker had upgraded the big package to 77.4 kWh, the future global standard. Europeans will get that larger package starting from the 2023 model year, the brand announced in a press release. Hyundai did not say how much the midsize car increased intersection will be obtained by switching from a 30-pack module to 32. Currently, the rear-wheel drive Ioniq 5 Premium with its 214 hp e-motor offers the longest range, at 481 km (299 miles) on the WLTP cycle. Another feature on the road is battery pre-conditioning, something we know American buyers in certain climates would love to get. Hyundai Europe agency will start taking orders for the Ioniq 2023 this spring. Hyundai notes that the larger battery is not currently sold in the UK.
