You may already be familiar with Hyatt’s Category 1-4 certification, which you can earn as Hyatt Milestone Rewards after accumulating 30 elite nights or 50,000 basis points in a calendar year. You can also earn Certificate 1-4 through Hyatt World Credit Card.
But anyone can join Hyatt’s Discover Brands promotion and earn up to five free nights at Hyatt properties. This is arguably one of the easiest ways to earn free night prizes. So, let’s see what you should know about the Hyatt Brand Explorer promotion.
Hyatt World Brand Explorer Overview
The main goal of the Hyatt Brand Discovery program is to encourage World of Hyatt members to try the different brands in the Hyatt portfolio. By joining the program, members can earn Tier 1-4 free night prizes for every five unique nights Hyatt brand they stay.
All World of Hyatt members can enjoy this benefit — you don’t need elite status or specific credit cards. No additional registration or closing date required. And the benefits last for the life of your account, so you can take the time to hit the threshold.
Eligible stays, including qualifying paid stays (e.g. standard, member, AAA, or premium rate) and World of Hyatt redemptions (points or certificates) get a free night’s stay) counts towards the Brand Explorer promotion. Guests only need to stay one night at each brand and there is no minimum spending requirement. However, stays booked through third parties such as Expedia do not count towards Hyatt Brand Explorer.

Track your Brand Explorer progress
Tracking your progress with the Hyatt Brand Explorer program is simple. To see how many brands you’ve stayed on, log in online to your World of Hyatt account and navigate to the “My Awards” tab from the account home page.
Expand the “Brand Explorer” tab to see your Brand Explorer progress.

Redeem free nights at Hyatt Brand Explorer
After staying at five different Hyatt brands, you’ll automatically receive a Class 1-4 complimentary night certificate. Once you’ve earned your certificate, you’ll receive a confirmation email and it will appear under the “My Awards” tab in your World of Hyatt account. The Class 1-4 Brand Explorer Certificate is valid for one year, whereby you must complete your stay (not just book your stay).
To redeem your certificate, you can search for hotels as usual, with the “Use points” option selected.
Since the Tier 1-4 free night certificate only applies to properties that cost up to 18,000 points per night (Class 4 properties on peak days), you need to find a room that meets this criteria. Once you’ve selected a hotel, you’ll see “free nights” if you can use one of your free night certificates.
When possible, try to redeem your Class 1-4 certificate when the nightly rate is over $300 at Category 4 properties. Hyatt waives destination and resort fees when you redeem points or certificates for free nights at most hotels. And if you are a Hyatt’s Global World member, Parking also counts when you redeem points or certificates for free nights.
