How will you configure your perfect 2024 Ford Ranger?
Ford Ranger 2024 is finally out, and it promises to be much more competitive than the outdated Ranger that Ford sold before. Even better, we actually get Ranger Raptor this time. It may not have a V8 . engine, but we’ll go with the twin-turbo V6 as it makes 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. And now the configurator is up and running, so you can play around with Ranger to find the perfect configurator just for you.
Interestingly, if you choose the Raptor, there aren’t really any options. You could add some accessories, including a bed sheet that might seem like a necessity, but other than that, it’s just paint and wheels. Ford offers 9 paint color options on the Raptor but only 3 actual colors. We’re part of Shelter Green Metallic, although Velocity Blue Metallic looks pretty good, too. Alternatively, for an extra $1,495, you can upgrade to a wheel that has bead-locking capabilities.
If you step down to the regular Ranger line-up, you’ll notice that although Ford says a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 making 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque is an option, but it is not available on config. If the 2.3-liter engine isn’t powerful enough for you, then you’ll have to wait until “late autumn 2023”. Also, the Shelter Green Metallic paint color we mentioned earlier seems to be a Raptor exclusive color as it’s not an option on the regular Ranger.
XLT seems like it will be the most popular trim level, but if you haven’t been paying attention to truck prices lately, you might be shocked at how expensive they are. If you want all-wheel drive on the XLT, you’re looking at a price tag of just under $40,000. Meanwhile, the 4-wheel-drive Ranger Lariat is only about $1,000 less than the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.
So how would you spec your Ranger? Go to configurationand then let us know in the comments.
