Have you ever scrolled through TikTok feed when suddenly a live video pops up? Out of nowhere, it feels like you’re on a one-way video call with a content creator, a stark contrast to the perfectly curated few-second videos you’re used to seeing on the platform.

This feature is called TikTok liveand it allows content creators to have more authentic interactions with their followers through live vertical video.

In addition to connecting with fans, TikTok Live video has some other key perks for creators.

Live streams also allow fans to send virtual gifts to eligible creators, such as virtual roses, silly filters, and virtual stuffed animals. In addition to receiving a cute token of appreciation from viewers, creators can exchange these gifts for TikTok diamonds, which they can then convert to real money.
