The first volume shows how China’s dominance has grown since 2010, especially on wafers and polysilicon, the early stages of production:
And scary is that the dominance is expected to continue to grow:
China’s dominance is built on lower costs, a result of low electricity costs, a lack of environmental standards, and a large amount of slave labor. Basically, it is clear that the West cannot compete on Chinese terms, leaving the dilemma of strategic dependence on China or the much higher cost of solar panels.
