Update for this year in Malaysia is 2024 Honda CMX500 Rebel cruiser, now priced at RM33,899 excluding road tax, insurance and registration. With prices unchanged from 2023, there are also two new colour options for the CMX500 Rebel – Mat Laurel Green Metallic and Seal Silver Metallic – adding to the existing Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic option in the catalogue.
Each CMX500 Rebel comes with a two-year or 20,000km warranty against manufacturing defects. Honda’s midsize cruiser is expected to be available at Honda Big Wing dealership showrooms from today, July 24, 2024.
Power comes from a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine fed by PGM-Fi mated to a six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch. Power is rated at 45.59bhp at 8,500rpm and 43.3Nm of torque at 6,000rpm and is tuned for more torque at lower revs.
Non-adjustable telescopic forks hold the front end tight while a pair of Showa shock absorbers with nitrogen reservoirs are adjustable for preload. Braking uses single hydraulic discs front and rear while dual-channel ABS is standard.
Wheel sizes are 16 inches with 130/90 and 150/80 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The Rebel 500 has a rider-friendly seat height of 690mm and a listed weight of 190kg with 11.2 litres of fuel in the tank.
