Hilton plans to expand its lifestyle hotel in Iceland


Hilton’s global expansion of its lifestyle hotel portfolio now includes Iceland.

The hotel giant plans to open two lifestyle hotels in Iceland, one in Reykjavik and one in the north of the country.

More details are available on the property planned for rural northern Iceland, where Hilton plans to open the Akureyri Hotel “Skald”, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Akureyri in summer 2025. 70-room hotel will include a lobby bar, according to the brand, an all-day restaurant and an “innovative social club concept.” Akureyri is popular with tourists due to its proximity to the Diamond Circle and the North Pole – ideal for those looking to observe the northern lights.

The second Icelandic lifestyle hotel for Hilton is scheduled to open in spring 2026 in Reykjavik, but details on which brand the “luxury lifestyle accommodation” hotel will fall under are unclear. which has not yet been made public.
