Hell’s Kitchen 21 winner explains Battle of the Ages Twist
This battle is the battle of the ages – or rather, of the ages.
Hell Kitchen Crowned Alex Belew as the 21st winner on 9 February after a season with a gap of 40 points to 20 points in hopes of becoming Gordon Ramsay‘executive chef at Hell’s Kitchen Caesar’s Atlantic City. In the end, the 40-year-old man defeated Dafne Mejia29, and Alejandro Najar28 years old, to receive a prize of 250,000 USD.
“I didn’t know it was coming, it was a change,” Alex told E! News of his victory. “Dafne has gotten pretty strong winning many contests and challenges. She’s much younger than me so I don’t know what’s going to happen. So when I walked through that door, my head banged. to the floor.”
In fact, when the competition had narrowed down to the final five black-jackets, Alex was the only member left on his original team forced to take on four younger chefs.
“There’s no scenario where I think 40-year-olds have an advantage,” he admitted. “My teammates were assassinated from the moment we walked into the kitchen. It was brutal. As someone on that team as it was going on, in my head the whole time, I thought ‘What the hell. What’s going on? This is a nightmare.'”
