Hear the roar of the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 twin-turbo V8 engine

Chevrolet teased it hotly corvette ZR1 again before it was revealed, providing some clues as to what will power the supercar.

It will be revealed “this summer” in the US, which suggests the reveal will take place between now and the end of August.

Those who have watched the video multiple times may have spotted the rocket taking off from the blue flames after the ZR1 disappeared over the horizon.

Engine1 note that this closely resembles a stamp found on various parts of the Z06’s LT6 V-8, suggesting the ZR1 will use a twin-turbo version of the 475kW/595Nm flat-plane V8 of the Z06.

You may also hear what sounds like a pair of turbochargers working.

According to a report from GM Administration In April 2020, the ZR1 will get a version of the Z06’s 5.5-litre V8 with two turbochargers, with total power outputs of 633kW and 1016Nm.

Our spy photographers previously captured what appears to be the hero performing testing at the Nürburgring.

At first glance, the spied prototype appears to be quite similar to the Corvette Z06 with Z07 Performance Package, albeit with some minor differences.

Comparing the two side by side, the spied Corvette ZR1 prototype has a vented hood, smaller vents just in front of the rear wheels, as well as another vent on either side of the mid-mounted engine.

One difference between this Corvette ZR1 spy prototype and the Z06 equipped with the Z07 Performance Package is that the Corvette ZR1’s rear spoiler appears to be significantly larger and more aggressive.

GM Administration The report details all future members of the Corvette C8 family, and it’s accurate in its predictions of Z06 uses a flat-plane 5.5-liter V8 engine and Electron beam with its hybrid system.

The ZR1 may not be the hottest C8 Corvette by a long shot, with the same report talking about a new flagship with a historic name: Zora.

Named after the man considered the father of the Corvette, Zora Arkus-Duntov, the flagship will use a twin-turbo version of the new 5.5-liter V8.

However, it will reportedly use all-wheel drive and a hybrid system, similar to that of the E-Ray, with a total output of 1000 horsepower and 1000 pound-feet of torque – or 745kW and 1355Nm .
