Harley-Davidson Rider Academy has now trained one million riders at 225 dealerships in 43 states.

Harley-Davidson just announced that one million riders have been trained in its Harley-Davidson Rider Academy program, which includes a variety of classes that help both new and intermediate riders learn the basics and hone their skills.

Riding Academy offers classes at 225 Harley dealerships in 43 states. The New Rider course is designed to teach the basics to students who have never ridden a motorcycle before, and upon completion of the course, students will be exempt from obtaining a DMV motorcycle certification. The academy also offers courses for intermediate riders, tricycle riders, and adventure riders, as well as a Practical Skills course.

Harley-Davidson Riding Academy trains one million riders

Harley-Davidson today announced that it has trained one million riders through its Riding Academy program, cementing its position as the largest rider training program in the United States.

Launched in 2000 as Rider’s Edge, the program was renamed Harley-Davidson Riding Academy in 2013. Today, Harley-Davidson Riding Academy offers training through a network of more than 225 Harley-Davidson dealers in 43 states, making it the largest rider training network in the United States and the only nationwide rider licensing program sponsored by a motorcycle manufacturer.

Riding Academy also offers courses for intermediate riders who want to learn how to operate a 3-wheeler, adventure riding, and skills training for riders who want to improve their own motorcycle riding skills. In most states, successful completion of the New Rider Course, Intermediate Course, or 3-Wheel Course will result in a license exemption for the student to obtain a motorcycle license from the state DMV.

The majority of Riding Academy instructors are dual certified by the Riding Academy and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) to ensure they adhere to the highest standards of professionalism, safety and adult learning principles.
