Gunna declares her innocence and pledges to clear her name

Gunna doesn’t let time behind bars silence him, especially when it comes to discussing his freedom! On Tuesday, a typed statement appeared on the rapper’s Instagram page. In the two-page letter, Gunna claims his innocence but also talks about prosecutors’ use of art against him, his positive impact on the community and the fight to clear his name. .

The artist began by expressing gratitude for “one of the best years of my life.” [his] life,” despite his recent arrest. He then added, “This year, I’ve had the whole world push P.” Gunna also said he “never dreamed” of where his art would take him and his loved ones.

Gunna added a paragraph about his art form saying that he used a gift from God to “change my circumstances”. He worked, empowered Black women, and received blessings.

“Currently, I don’t have my freedom,” Gunna wrote. “But I am innocent. I am being falsely accused and will not stop fighting to clear his name! ”

In the next paragraph, the artist doubles his innocence. He said, “The picture I’m painting is ugly and untrue.” Gunna later broke several of his loves including celebrating his life, family, travel, fans and beliefs.

“As a black person in America, it seems that my art is only acceptable when I am a source of entertainment for the masses. My art is not allowed to stand alone as entertainment, I am not allowed that freedom as a Negro in America. It is a sad fact that slavery still exists in America today and still affects my people. In 12 states, more than half of the population in prison is Black, one of those states is Georgia.”
