On the night of December 10 and continuing through December 11, a series of unprecedented weather phenomena occurred in six states of the United States. At least 30 tornadoes have struck various parts of Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee, leaving unfathomable devastation after they hit.
Kentucky was hit particularly hard; one of the tornadoes there, which originated in Arkansas, was on the ground for nearly two hours, covering more than 220 miles, the longest distance a tornado had ever traveled. It killed dozens of people and created a devastating trail of devastation, including flattening an Amazon warehouse and a large candle factory, before lifting it back off the ground. Tornadoes, at least EF-3 but possibly as tall as EF-5, cause wind speeds of more than 200 mph.
Several dozen people have been confirmed dead, and dozens more remain unverified. More than a thousand houses were destroyed. Rescue teams are searching for survivors in the rubble.
The Governor of Kentucky has declared state of emergency, calling it “one of the darkest days in the history of the state.”

We have delivered backpacks, called SOS Packs or Good Packs, to people who have lost everything. These packs contain socks, deodorant, blankets, toothbrushes, and other essentials.
One of the other ways GreaterGood Charity helps during natural disasters is by evacuating pets and sending supplies to survivors. Animal shelters are currently inundated with pets that have been abandoned or gone missing in catastrophic storms, and shelters have no place to take them all in. We are planning emergency transportation to bring pets to shelter locations that have space for them to make room for new arrivals.
60 cats has been evacuated, but there are many others who need help. Our current goal is to work with evacuate all animals stayed at the Mayfield Graves Animal Shelter before the natural disaster and took them to shelters that had more space and resources for them. This will create space for many pets to relocate in Kentucky as they wait to be reunited with their families.
We are also shipping shipments of pet food, medicine, bedding and other essentials to help feed and care for animals in need who are reaching shelters. this crowded.
