This is the second year the Grammy Awards have been postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The awards will take place at Crypto.com Arena, formerly the Staples Center, on January 31. A revised ceremony schedule will be announced at a later date.

Additionally, on Wednesday, the Sundance Film Festival announced that it would be moving live events in Utah online because of the omicron variation.

“While we’re disappointed we haven’t delivered the full mix and match experience as intended, this year’s audience will still experience the magic and energy of our Festival with these sets. bold new films and XR productions, discovering new storytellers, face-to-face encounters with artists and a globally accessible creative social platform and gallery space, “festival said in a statement.

Sundance said it will be contacting all ticket and package holders and ticket purchasers because of these changes. The festival will begin on January 20 as planned.

“This was a difficult decision to make. As a nonprofit, our Sundance spirit is to make something work against the odds,” the statement said. “But with the number of cases forecast to be the highest in our host community during festival week, we cannot intentionally put our employees and communities at risk.”
