Gordon, West Highgate Sales Launch


Jill Gordon and Jacob West announced the launch of Highgate Sales, a new merchandising company that will make its debut at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale in February.

<p><a href=Highgate sales will provide consignments for the sale of stallions, stallions and race-age horses with a focus on providing individualized service to each of its customers. In addition to its shipments, the operation will also provide appraisal, personal trading and portfolio management services.

Gordon has extensive knowledge of the blood pressure industry, working with some of the top farms and shipments in the country. She previously worked at Claiborne Farms as director of sales and customer relations for three and a half years following three years at Warrendale Sales.

In her role at Claiborne, she oversaw all aspects of public sale shipments as well as outside sales recruiting, growing shipments significantly during that time. She also supports private sales and handles communication with customers throughout the year.

Gordon will help Claiborne Farms transition through the January Livestock Share Sale in Keeneland next month before commencing her full-time role at Highgate Sales.

“I am very grateful and appreciative of my time at Claiborne Ranch,” said Gordon. “I’ve forged some great relationships and been surrounded by some of the best families and horses in the guidebook. I’m looking forward to partnering with Jacob and combining our skills to make best serve our clients in this new chapter of my career under the Highgate Banner.”

Gordon also works closely with the Commercial Shippers and Breeders Association and was recently elected to the board of directors of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers Club.

Successful agent Jacob West began his racing career as a coveted groomer at Taylor Made before moving into the role of managing their buyer’s account. During that time, he managed portfolios, including public and private acquisitions, breeding and racing management. West also served as director of blood services for Three Chimneys Ranch, where he managed the farm’s public and private sales.

West has been the vice president of blood groups at Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners since 2017, when he also launched West Bloodstock. This year, West was appointed as the United States representative for the Goffs.

“In forming this partnership with Jill Gordon, the primary focus will be on meeting the needs of the customer,” says West. “Jill brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the public sales space. We look forward to working together and launching Highgate Sales.”
