Goliath to run in Germany next; Dam to be sold to Goffs


On the same day, German media confirmed that Giant will compete in the Preis von Europa (G1) at Cologne later this month, with the season-ending Japan Cup (G1) as the target, Goffs has announced the hero horse King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) Color powder will be offered at the company’s Livestock Show in November.

Gouache, Shamardal’s 12-year-old daughter, is pregnant. Baeed and will be consigned by Millennium Stud at the auction scheduled for November 22-23.

“Goliath’s surprise win in the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes was one of the most impressive performances of the season and the world is looking forward to what he does next,” said Goffs Group chief executive Henry Beeby.

“Goffs is honoured to have been chosen to sell Goliath’s dam Gouache, and we are grateful to her owners for their confidence in our services, following a record-breaking sale in 2023 when we sold two of the world’s highest-priced mares.”

Via Adlerflug Goliath is the second foal of Gouache, who won the 2016 Hoppegartener Stutenpreis for owner/breeder Gestut Schlenderhan.

At the Arqana stallion auction last December, Gouache was sold as a foal to Blackbeard by Schlenderhan to Agrolexica International Trading for €200,000. She gave birth to a foal by the 2022 European Champion, 2-year-old, son of No No Never in March.
