Get up to 100,000 United bonus miles with this limited-time offer


United MileagePlus Attention members: You can earn some significant bonus miles in the coming weeks by booking a cruise.

On Thursday, United Cruises launched a limited-time promotion that could net you 100,000 United miles and more when you book a cruise on select luxury cruise brands.

That’s a pretty cool United MileagePlus number. TPG is currently worth United MileagePlus miles cost 1.35 cents per mile, meaning 100,000 miles would be worth $1,350 according to our valuations.

Plus, bonus miles are in addition to the standard United miles you’ll earn when booking through United Cruises. United MileagePlus members earn up to 4 miles for every dollar spent on cruise fares, up to 25,000 miles per booking.

Additionally, if you book with a United MileagePlus Credit CardYou can earn even more miles. United MileagePlus members who book with a United MileagePlus credit card will earn up to 7 miles for every dollar spent on travel fares, up to 45,000 miles per booking.

In other words, for some cruise bookings under this new offer, you could earn up to 145,000 United miles total.

Additional benefits included in the offer include early booking savings, in-flight credit and additional services.

Bonus miles and additional benefits are available when booking select cruises on one of the following brands:

  • Azamara Cruise: Get up to 55,000 United bonus miles, plus 20% early booking savings and up to $650 in in-flight credit.
  • Oceania Cruise: Earn up to 55,000 United bonus miles, plus up to 40% off cruise fares, extras and free gratuities.
  • Regent Seven Seas Cruise: Get up to 100,000 United bonus miles, plus 5% savings on fares, additional savings, and up to $700 in additional credit.
  • Ocean: Get up to 100,000 United bonus miles, plus up to $2,800 in in-flight credit.
  • Wind Star: Get up to 10,000 United bonus miles, plus free upgrades and up to $500 in in-flight credit.

Note that not every trip available across these five brands has bonus miles. You’ll have to scroll through the list of available trips on the United Cruises website to find the ones with the deals.

Also, you have to act fast to get your bonus miles. The accelerated miles offer is only valid through August 31, 2024.

Bonus miles offer details

Among the caveats to the offer: Miles are earned per cabin and are awarded to only one passenger per cruise booking. Additionally, to qualify, customers must book through United Cruises Program.

Additionally, the number of miles a customer earns when participating in the promotion will be based on the total purchase price of the cruise, excluding port fees, port charges and taxes.

Other notes:

  • You must provide your United MileagePlus number to United Cruises before boarding.
  • Bonus miles will be credited to the member’s account six to eight weeks after the trip ends.
  • This offer is valid for new bookings only.
  • Cruises must be paid for in US dollars.
  • This offer is subject to availability and capacity.
  • This offer is subject to change or withdrawal at any time without notice.

Additionally, the base miles you will receive on your booking, in addition to bonus miles, will be based on:

  • 2 miles per dollar spent on inside or ocean view cabins when not using United MileagePlus credit card
  • 4 miles per dollar spent on a balcony room or suite when not using the United MileagePlus credit card
  • 4 miles per dollar spent on interior or ocean view cabins when using the United MileagePlus credit card
  • 7 miles per dollar spent on a balcony room or suite when using the United MileagePlus credit card

As noted above, only the amount spent on cruise tickets — not taxes, fees, and port charges — earns miles.

Which credit card should I use to make a reservation?

As mentioned earlier, you can maximize your purchase by using United MileagePlus Credit Cardsuch as United Club℠ Infinite Card, Earn 2 miles for every dollar spent on travel. This card is currently offering 90,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months of your account opening.

If you don’t have a United card, it’s best to use travel rewards card. A good choice is Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Earn 2 points per dollar spent on travel, including cruises. Currently, you can earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of opening your account.
