A month ago we launched the Dredge mini fishing game on PS5 and PS4 and we have received a lot of positive feedback. We’re grateful that you’re enjoying your time fishing at The Marrows… and exploring the treacherous waters outside.
Today, we’re excited to announce that we have even more eldritch experiences planned for Dredge throughout the year, including three free updates and a new paid adventure featuring Dredge. Ironhaven Corporation, an entity you may have heard about while passing some of the game’s inhabitants. More on that in depth below.
One of the many requested features is the expanded functionality for the in-game map, and we’re excited to introduce this feature with the first free update in May. The addition of points Map markers will let you choose from differently colored icons representing everything from danger, shipwreck, mystery, etc., allowing for more efficient navigation between locations than before. Additionally, this update will include several bug fixes and balance changes.
In our second update, two new modes will introduce very different ways to experience Dredge. The first is Passive Mode, which caters to players who prefer a less stressful experience. The monsters that normally attack fishing boats will no longer be aggressive, allowing players to focus on fishing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
The second mode of this update is another much requested feature: Photo Mode. But instead of just adding capabilities with a simple menu option, we’re taking a different approach. When it launches, our photo mode will add a new in-game character who will help players unlock their camera abilities and share clues about where to find certain animals local marine wildlife as your photographic subjects, some of which will become completely new in this update. This mode will be ‘hooked’ into the PlayStation’s ability to share screenshots so you can share your captures, whether it’s a majestic whale shot or a hideous nightmare from the depths.
Our third free update will introduce boat customizations like paint schemes and flags. As you explore Dredge’s shores and tributaries, you’ll unlock new boat paint schemes and flags to make your fishing vessel really stand out. We’ll have more information on both the second and third updates later in the year.
Finally, we’ll be developing a paid and fully optional DLC featuring the mysterious Ironhaven Corporation. They are looking to set up an innovative drilling operation in the area to revitalize towns and populations, but their ultimate goal remains unknown. As you gather materials to build new buildings and bio-materials to fuel rigs, meet new characters, craft new equipment, and catch new fish, you can discover the truth behind their potential nefarious activities.
