Gervonta Davis gets free bail, public speaking on social media post

Gervonta Davis is said to be a free man after being released from custody in Florida on Wednesday on a bond of thousands of dollars. The multi-title undefeated was arrested on Tuesday for domestic abuse and, as part of his release agreement, was not authorized to have contact with the alleged victim. A 9-1-1 recording of the alleged victim shows a woman frantically begging for help (though it must be made clear to Davis that, under Federal, State, and Local Law, anyone charged is innocent until proven guilty). “Please help me,” the woman pleads in the recording. “Please help me.”
Many of the operators the woman came into contact with during the calls had trouble getting her to reveal her location and details of her ordeal. “Please,” the woman continued. “I’m trying to go home. I have a baby in the car and it attacks me…I need help, please…please help me. He will kill me…I want to go home. Please help me.” Later, it was reported that Davis was arrested for hitting the woman causing her to bleed. With that said, Davis herself took to social media shortly after her release.
“Don’t,” he said in the post, now deleted, “let these people fool you all about this bullshit.” The statement came with an image of an animated movie playing on television. “This just happened yesterday,” he added, “it wasn’t long before my mother and I had an argument.” During the lengthy statement, Davis pointed out that he was unfairly orchestrated by people who wanted to cash in on his misfortune. “I’m not a monster,” he said. Davis is scheduled to face Hector Luis Garcia in the Showtime pay-per-view main event on January 7. As of press time, the fight has not been postponed or cancelled.
