Fujifilm X-T5 Versus Canon EOS R5: Battle of High Resolution Sensors

In this video, I test the new one Fujifilm X-T5 against Canon EOS R5, which is my studio camera. I originally intended to compare the image quality of Fuji’s new 40-megapixel crop sensor with Canon’s 45-megapixel full-frame sensor, but after using the X-T5 for several sessions in my studio, I decided to do a friendly comparison. Compare two cameras.

I realize, of course, that these two bodies are on different planets when it comes to price points, and with that in mind, I talk about the X-T5’s ergonomics, autofocus, and image quality. Also provide some sample pictures. All images are connected or imported into Capture One Pro 23 for comparison. I also decided to do this comparison because in a recent video I tested the Fujifilm XH2 with the R5 and imported the photos into Lightroom because I couldn’t connect the camera. X-H2 with C1 at that time.

As expected, when peeking at pixels, Canon shows more detail than Fujifilm. Still, the results are pretty similar, and I’m impressed with how far the X-T5 outperforms the R5 in the portrait and portraiture genres that I usually take. Both images look great and in this comparison I’m not trying to convince anyone to switch to one brand. Instead, this is done out of thought and also because I wanted to see how Fujifilm’s new 40-megapixel Capture One handles Fujifilm’s new 40-megapixel files.

I hope you enjoyed the video and as always let me know what you think in the comments section below.
