Frances Kyle and Averil Deverell: The first Irish women called to the bar


Because the centenary of those ladies’s achievement was marked on Monday, Maura McNally, chairwoman of the Council of the Bar of Eire, stated that when Averil Deverell died in 1979, ladies nonetheless solely represented 10% of the Bar within the Republic of Eire and there was one single feminine senior counsel.
