Ford sent the Mustang Mach-E to the racetrack
If you’re the kind of person who looks at All-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E and wish it could do more, then Ford might be about to answer your prayers. Blue Oval just launched a new rally inspired by supplement for Mach-my family with a sleek set of wheels and the promise of more off-road performance.
Called the Mustang Mach-E Rally, the new model debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was driven by World Rally champion Ott Tänak up the event’s steep climb. Hybrid racing car M-Sport Ford Puma.
The new car will take Ford’s lessons from the World Rally period and deliver that performance to casual drivers. As such, the company said the new version will allow Mustang to go “where it has never gone before – where the asphalt ends and the dirt road begins.”
Interestingly, Ford already has an off-road performance brand in the form of the Raptor family, which includes Bronco, F-150 And forest ranger model. So why is this new rugged Mach-E so focused on the world of fast, agile racing rather than the brute force behind the Raptor series?
Sadly, we still don’t know the answer to that, just like we really don’t know much about the new car either. Ford stays The Mustang’s specs are tight-lipped Mach-E . rally but has confirmed that it’s a production-ready model that will land on our shores soon. In fact, the race-inspired SUV will go on sale in the US later this year and will also be available for purchase across Europe when it launches.
“The Mustang Mach-E takes the freedom and fun of the Mustang and makes it zero-emissions,” said Darren Palmer, vice president of electric vehicle programs, Ford Model E. “Now with the Mustang Mach-E Rally, we give our customers the freedom to venture on the asphalt and off the beaten track.”
