Ford CEO Jim Farley didn’t turn down CNBC’s Jim Kramer when it came to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. “If he wants to design a Cybertruck for Silicon Valley people“Fine,” said Farley, noting that the Cybertruck “is like a great high-end product parked in front of the hotel.” He said Ford doesn’t make such trucks, but for real people who work for real.
Cars.com released every year US-made index and Tesla is at the top. The four most-sold American-made vehicles in the US are the Tesla Model Y, Model 3, Model X and Model S. Honda, Volkswagen and Acura make the top 10 list.
Rivian CFO Claire McDonough said R2 will be revealed in 2024. The executive also said the automaker is aiming for a starting price of around $40,000 with loaded models that can stretch to $60,000. The automaker plans to put the R2 into production at its new plant in Georgia, currently under construction, in 2026.
Rivian announced to follow Ford and GM in Tesla NACS fees apply portal and owners will have access to Tesla’s 12,000-charger Supercharger network. Adapters for the existing Rivians will be available in 2024, and the charging port will be integrated into the vehicle starting in 2025. Hyundai and Stellantis said they are also considering switching to NACS.
The Cadillac Lyriq 2024 priced at 59,990 USD as the product line expands with more trims and options. The lower price point comes from the introduction of the entry-level Technology version, while the Sport version comes above the current Luxury version.
