Fisker is rRecalled 12,523 Ocean electric SUVs globally due to an issue that can cause the exterior door handles to become stuck and not open, the company announced on Friday.
According to the company’s press release, the recall includes 8,204 vehicles in the US, 513 vehicles in Canada and 3,806 vehicles in Europe. In the US, Oceans are being delivered as both 2023 and 2024 model years. Fisker estimates that 2.5% of vehicles may have a defect that the company attributes to “mechanical malfunction.”

Fisker will test all four exterior door handles on affected vehicles using a “dedicated force testing tool” provided by the door handle supplier and will replace them free of charge if necessary.
