Fantasy RB Leaderboard Week 13: Who to start, where to sit to run back in fantasy football
It’s going to be a rough week in running again for at least a few fantasy football owners, but some favorable matches for a few cuffs produce some much-needed sleep. Our Fantasy Week 13 RB Leaderboard attempts to navigate all the bye, injury, committee, and good/bad games info to help make your starting decision.
First, let’s start with goodbye. The Panthers, Browns, Packers and Titans are taking a break this week, which will remove some studs (Christian McCaffrey, Nick Chubb, Aaron Jones), flex keys (Kareem Hunt, AJ Dillon), and sleepers based on articulation (D’Onta Foreman, Dontrell Hilliard). All of those defenders except Dillon have missed out on time this year, though, so fantasy owners should get used to playing without them.
WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKING:
Midfielder | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker
It’s a bit more difficult for players with injuries because you don’t know if they’re going to play or not. Dalvin Cook (shoulder), Alvin Kamara (knee), Mark Ingram (knee), Jordan Howard (knee), D’Andre Swift (shoulder), and Ezekiel Elliott (knee) are all active this week, and it will most likely become “questionable” on Sunday. Behind the back of The Saints, Cook, Swift and Howard are especially interesting because they all have favorable matches. If they go out, suddenly Tony Jones Jr. (vs Cowboys), Jamaal Williams (vs Vikings), Alexander Mattison (@ Lions) and Boston Scott (@ Jets) became starters.
WEEK 13 PPR RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker
Those won’t be the only sleepers in action. Jeff Wilson Jr. (@ Seahawks), Samaje Perine (vs Chargers) and JD McKissic (@Raiders) all made the top five. When you add whoever is the number 2 for the Lion and the Eagle, you have five worth of “cuffs”. That’s more than most weeks.
The mess, on the other hand, is that backyard Bills have a tough game against the Patriots, which actually makes things a little easier. Don’t bother with the back of any Invoice unless you’re desperate. The same goes for Houston’s backs (compared to the Colts). Alex Collins (versus 49ers) still has enough touches to be a low-level flex man, but he’s also in a tough spot. Ditto to Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson (@Bills), whose time-sharing ratio has really devalued both, especially in a tough match like this. Some might be worried about Devonta Freeman (@Steelers), but with Pittsburgh’s defense struggling recently, Freeman is still playing with flexibility.
Overall, this has been a good week for the RBs. There are some tough games for star defenders, but as long as they’re active, they’ll be in your squad. It’s unlikely most imagination owners have enough depth to consider taking down someone like Clyde Edwards-Helaire (vs Broncos) or Javonte Williams (@ Chiefs), as long as you’re up for anything. any injury/illness after their ugly head at the end of the week you should be able to do a 1-2 hard punch at RB.
Note: We’ll be updating these RB leaderboards throughout the week, so check back for the latest player analysis and movements.
