Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is getting a free multi-part demo


Nintendo has revealed that Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club — which launches in just under two weeks — will have a free demo next week, August 19, 2024. But like a slowly unfolding mystery, the demo will be released in parts.

The initial download will include Chapter 1 of the game, while two more updates will follow in the days leading up to release. Chapter 2 will launch on August 22, while Chapter 3 will launch on August 27, a few days before the game’s release. Plus, all of your progress will carry over to the full release.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to download each chapter individually: if you download the demo from the eShop, it will automatically update when the next chapter is available. A pretty cool little theme for a game that revolves around solving a mystery.

Nintendo did a pretty great job promoting the surprise third installment in the Famicom Detective Club series. original Emio tease There’s been a lot of buzz around it, and Nintendo has been sharing details about the game periodically over the past few weeks. Plus, if the ESRB rating is anything to go by, it could be “terrible“.
