El Chapo’s brother and 2 others indicted on drug trafficking charges
A federal grand jury in Tucson returned superseding indictments in November 2019 and February 2020 towards cartel members Aureliano Guzman-Loera of Sinaloa, Mexico, together with brothers Ruperto, Jose, and Heriberto Salgueiro-Nevarez of Guadalupe Y Calvo, Mexico, in response to a press launch from the US Lawyer’s workplace on Friday.
“The indictments allege varied violations of United States legislation associated to the worldwide distribution of managed substances, together with fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana, occurring over a number of years,” the discharge mentioned.
In February 2019, El Chapo was convicted on 10 counts, together with participating in a seamless prison enterprise, conspiracy to launder narcotics proceeds, worldwide distribution of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and different medication.
He’s serving his life sentence in Colorado’s Supermax jail.
The spouse of El Chapo, Emma Coronel Aispuro, pleaded guilty in June in a federal courtroom in Washington to drug trafficking and cash laundering costs associated to her husband’s narcotics empire.
