Edmunds’ long-term electric vehicle fleet has clear winners and some objective stinkers

Edmunds’ electric vehicle fleet includes one 2024 Tesla Model 3, one 2020 Tesla Model Y, 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, 2022 Rivian R1T, 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, 2024 BMW i5 M60, 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, 2022 Lucid Air GT and 2024 Fisker Ocean Extreme. I’ll let the video do most of the talking But I’ll give a high-level overview.
Edmunds recently took delivery of their 2024 Tesla The Model 3 is a refreshed Highland model, so other than the initial quality being improved compared to the first edition Model 3, they still can’t draw many conclusions. The 2020 Model Y, although some presenters said the Model Y had the worst suspension ever put in a car, was popular with employees and performed well throughout its four years of service. The 2021 Mustang Mach-E is also loved by employees for its high ease of use despite its slow charging speed. Edmunds employees love their 2022 Rivian R1T. Despite some quality hiccups at launch, the Rivian received crazy support from employees. The Ford F-150 Lightning did not generate unanimous feedback, with some employees loving it and others saying the Rivian was a better buy. And finally, ending the positive reviews, the BMW i6 M60 is also newer to the fleet but it is by far a great car and a favorite among the staff.
Top poor performers; Edmunds Chevrolet Blazer 2024 EV was one Ownership nightmare as they were among the early adopters who faced weak software issues and hence the staff could not recommend the car. Click here to read about the various nightmares it caused for Edmunds. I took a test drive and I agree with this opinion. The 2022 Lucid Air GT had initial build quality issues, and the staff even said the software improved the ownership experience. The final and most glaring failure of the Edmunds EV fleet is the Fisker Ocean Extreme. Its list of problems is long and getting longer, plus the company recently filed for bankruptcy.
