A tribute from Ed Sheeran, corgis puppets and giant 3D string busts of the Queen will feature in the £15 million festive finale of the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations .

Highlights will also include an artist hovering under a helium balloon, a giant oak tree with a maypole dancer, a moving wedding cake and a towering dragon.

Expected to be watched by up to a billion people globally, more than 10,000 people will participate in staging the spectacle, including the military, more than 6,000 volunteers, performers and key workers, and 2,500 members of the public.

The organizers said that the million-pound beauty contest is being “people for the people” and is a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience.

The performer will travel a distance of 3km

It is understood as the amount that has been raised from corporate and individual sponsors.

It will take place against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace and its surrounding streets on the afternoon of Sunday, June 5 – the final day of the four-day bank holiday marking the 70 years on the queen’s throne.

The procession will include a 3-kilometer route to echo the Queen’s coronation.

At one stage, the Queen will be imagined in her younger days with a 20ft puppet of a young princess surrounded by a swarm of mischievous puppets.

Several “national treasures” will participate in the finale, but program director David Zolkwer gave no further details and said organizers wanted to “host some surprises back in the day”.

There are speculations that members of the royal family may appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at the finale but organizers will not rely on rumors about who may attend.

Other celebrities confirmed to be participating throughout the day include Sir Cliff Richard, Dame Shirley Bassey and Gary Linekar.

The event will be divided into four sections: For the Queen and Country, The Time of Our Lives, Let’s Celebrate, and Happiness and Glory.

The first stage will feature a military parade with 1,750 people and 200 horses – one of the largest military festivals in modern history, according to organizers.

The Time of Our Lives will celebrate seven decades of culture, music and fashion.
