Early voting will run next Jim Dandy, Brown Says


Preakness Stakes (G1) Winner Vote early will run for $600,000 Jim Dandy Stakes (G2) at Racecourse Saratoga July 30.

Coach Chad Brown said his son Gunman to his barn on the Oklahoma Training Line on July 17 from Belmont Park.

Brown decided that Saratoga would be the destination for the Klaravich Stables Early Voting rather than a start in the $1 million TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1) at Monmouth Park.

Brown will be represented in New Jersey by Jim Bakke, Gerald Isbister, Coolmore Stud and Peter Brant’s Jack Christopher undefeated in four starts.

Jack Christopher, son of Munnings about a 10-match win in Woody Stephens Bets presented by Mohegan Sun (G1).

“Jack Christopher looks great this morning and he looks ready to go to Haskell,” Brown said. “At the end of the day, I’ll run two horses in one race and one in the other.”

Brown also has Jeff Down’s Zandon , winner of the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1), for Jim Dandy Stakes. Also expected is Winchell Thoroughbreds’ The epicenter runner-up in both the Preakness Stakes (G1) and the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1).

“I don’t see the benefit of putting Early Vote in a larger field than a really fast horse … and what it could do to him in the five weeks since Travers,” Brown said.
