Toyota’s fifth-generation Supra has almost no success in sales The company hopes its halo sports machine will be. There are new trim names, with standard examples simply called “3.0” and new trim names. The premium model is called “3.0 Premium”. You can buy the GR Supra in Stratosphere Blue, Absolute Zero White, Nocturnal Black or Renaissance Red 2.o, and inside you can choose black or hazelnut leather, which looks quite nice.
With the four-cylinder model now gone, the Supra’s starting price jumps nearly $10K to $56,250 for the GR Supra 3.0, while the 3.0 Premium will cost $59,400. Considering the 400-horsepower Nissan Z starts at $42,970 and the 486-horsepower 5.0-liter Mustang starts at $42,460, the Supra is still a tough sell for enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a sporty Toyota that doesn’t break the bank but still drives great, check out the GR86. Sure, it doesn’t make as much power, but it’s much more agile and fun to drive. It’s also a much better value at $29,300, and the sales figures prove it, with the GR86 outselling the GR Supra by five to one.
