Driver steals truck while trying to tow his pickup and smashes everything in his path [Update]

Dramatic events unfolded in New York’s Sunset Park this weekend after a black Chevrolet pickup truck was hitched to a trailer ready to be removed. However, when the owner of the pickup truck did not accept and fought back, local news agency News12 reports.

According to the website, the owner of the truck fought with the tow truck driver on the street to try to get them to remove their pickup trucks. When that didn’t work, they climbed into a tow truck and drove away with their cars still attached to the back:

Police say a man blocked the service entrance with his truck and was being towed when he confronted the tow truck driver. They say he got into a fight on the street before getting into the driver’s seat.

Police said that after stealing a trailer with his car attached to a hitch, the man crashed into several other vehicles and eventually crashed head-on into a city bus.

The identity of this person has not been revealed at this time, but drivers who discovered the damage were shocked and said they did not understand why this happened.

Footage of the whole thing went viral on social media over the weekend, and it’s as wild as you’d expect. With his truck door still open, the pickup truck owner sped down the street, smashing into just about everything in his path. The door of his Chevy nearly flew off as he smashed into cars parked on either side of the street.

The driver, who has yet to be identified by authorities, did not drive very far behind the wheel of the trailer, as they are believed to have stopped abruptly after collided with the front of a city bus.

After colliding with the bus, the driver fled the scene on foot, leaving the destroyed pickup truck and the scene of devastation behind. Police are currently searching for the man.
