Dogs rescued from different situations become BFFS in shelters
When two dogs from two different backgrounds are brought in with the help of a rescue, they instantly become good friends.
It all started at Hope For Paws heard about a dog, Chester, who had been living on the street for at least a month. Rescuers JoAnn Wiltz and Alex Babcock immediately arrived at the Southern California home that called them, and they were greeted by the friendly puppy!
The person who called them said they tried to get Chester in, but their other dogs wouldn’t accept him. Worried neighbors left food for the puppy, but no one invited him at home.
Chester was happy to go with JoAnn and Alex and the two put him in the kennel and back to the vet hospital – but then they got a call about another dog in need of help.
They lived in the same neighborhood, so the rescue team came to help Chester with the towing. When they got to the house, they learned that an abandoned small dog had wandered around, so a woman lured it into the yard.
The dog, now named Tony, was terrified and ran away from rescuers. He tried his best, but in the end, Joann and Alex were able to corner the small dog and have a leash around its neck.
When they returned to the veterinary hospital, Chester and Tony were bathed. Tony was having a hard time adjusting, but Chester was there to comfort him!
Chester, the older of the two, gently comforts Tony and helps him come out of his shell. Within days, the two were running and playing together!
