Does Alvin Kamara play on Thursday nights? Cowboys-Saints Fantasy Injury Update for Thursday Night Football Week 13

Alvin Kamara (knee) has been sidelined for the last three Saints games, but he is officially “problem” in the Week 13 Thursday Night Football game against the Cowboys. His readiness will have a big effect on the fantasy RB Week 13 standings and the start of their decisions, so knowing the latest injury updates will be key.

We’ll continue to update this article with news about Kamara until the official active/inactive report is released on Thursday around 6:50 p.m. ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fosystem.

Is it Alvin Kamara on Thursday night?

Kamara (knee) is a limited participant actually this week, so it looks like he’s closer to playing than missing the third game in a row. That said, we won’t draw any conclusions at this point. If he plays, he’s obviously the one to start, but what if he doesn’t play?

WEEK 13 PPR RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker

It’s worth noting that Mark Ingram has been fully involved all week after missing last week’s game, so he has no reported injuries. If Kamara is absent, Ingram will be the main return, the combination of Tony Jones Jr and Ty Montgomery will likely carry out the rest of the table. However, both are not very attractive options.

WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker

Dallas is a 7th-ranked defense against fantasy RBs, and if Taysom Hill is the starting QB many expect, that could make it difficult for New Orleans’ catchers. While stationary QBs have the ability to shade RBs when under pressure or have nowhere to go with the ball, mobile QBs can scramble in those situations. In the four games that Taysom Hill started last season, Kamara had just 10 catches for 51 yards. That is much lower than what we expected. On top of that, Hill has the ability to capitalize on opportunities to rush into the red zone and into goal – the same way Cam Newton has done with Christian McCaffrey in the past.

WEEK 13 EFFECTS: Sleepers | Selling body | Start with ’em, sit’ em

All things considered, we know it’s hard to reserve any game that starts running again, but don’t put your hopes too high on Ingram if Kamara is absent. We have Kamara as RB10 in PPR and RB11 in standard tournaments because of his high ceiling, while Ingram would be a low end RB2 if he gets the nod. Either way, there’s risk involved with anyone you use in the backyard.
