The new one Abarth 500ehot version of electricity fiat500ewill be offered in a single variant when it arrives in Australia later this year.
Only the hatchback body style (no cabriolet) in a single Turismo version will be offered, although Abarth will launch the model in a limited number of the Scorpionissima special edition.
The company has yet to announce pricing.
The Scorpionissima Special Edition builds on Turismo with unique decals and a digital certificate of authenticity.
A total of 1949 Scorpionissimas will be built, with 219 going to Australia.
The 500e uses a manufactured front-mounted electric motor 113.7kW power and 235Nm torque, good for a 0-100km/h time of 7.0 seconds.
It uses a 42 kWh battery, with a range of 252 km on the WLTP cycle. It supports DC fast charging with power up to 85kW, reaching 80% capacity in 35 minutes.
Abarth says the electric architecture results in improved weight distribution and a longer wheelbase compared to the petrol model.
The company also claims that the acceleration from 20 to 40 km/h is 50% faster and the performance is better not only on highways but also in sharp turns.
There are three driving modes: Turismo, Scorpion Street and Scorpion Track. One-pedal driving is available on all Scorpion Track bars.
Also present on the 500e is the Abarth Sound Generator, which the company says adds a “characteristic and unmistakable roar” to reproduce the sound of the Abarth petrol engine.
